Cambridge University Spaceflight is keen to encourage young people to learn more about space and the possibilities for space exploration. We have given talks in schools, and carried out a demonstration launch for Cambridge Science Week, which was attended by over a hundred children from schools in East Anglia. We have also helped out at both the Engineering Dept and Institute of Physics outreach events, where we helped children to build their own small model rocket and launch it.
If you would like us to come and give a talk to your school or community group, please get in contact with us. We would be delighted to give a talk or presentation, and can use pieces of our equipment as a focus for these, as well as tailoring the talk to an appropriate level of scientific knowledge for the audience.
Teddies in Space
A very well publicised outreach event organised by CU Spaceflight involved children making space suits for teddy bears, which were then launched on one of the Nova platform balloons.
